I thought I would love this movie, but I was sorely disappointed. The scenery was beautiful, but the script was poorly written and the acting was pretty bad overall. I liked Grendel best. He was able to get across his feelings without saying a word. I don't think the other characters had many feelings, or maybe they didn't know how to show them. The documentary about this movie, Wrath of Gods, is much better.

I really enjoyed Beowulf and Grendel, directed by Sturla Gunnarsson and filmed in the most beautiful setting of Iceland. Gerard Butler as always, made an impressive and commanding Beowulf and had a wonderful cast supporting him. The story behind the filming makes the film even more special when you read all they went through to make it, lesser people would have given up many times. You can see all that happened in the amazing Wrath Of Gods Documentary by Jon
Gustafsson.

I have to admit i do like Gerard Butler in these
costume roles, a really hunky viking if ever i saw one and of course he gives his all to the role.
