The motion picture business has always been fascinated with the idea of time travel. In Time Line, Richard Donner takes us back to Medieval times in this action filled science fiction adventure. An archaeological team finds themselves in the past right in the middle of a war between the French and English. I found the costumes and buildings to be authentic and the well filmed siege on the castle was exceptional with catapults pelting Castlegard with fire. The movie has been hammered for its lack of consistancy with the book, but if you can get past that and watch the movie for the sole purpose of being entertained, then give this one a try.
This is one of my favorite movies with Gerard Butler. The movie would have been far better if it had followed the book, but still, Butler’s portrayal of Marek is wonderful and very sexy.
Timeline was a nice romantic medieval romp, i liked it.
Nice performances by all the cast. I do like costume films best and Gerard was perfectly cast as the romantic archeologist, full of enthusiasm and life and of course heroic to the end.
I read that Gerard wouldn’t make films like this anymore which is a shame really, because when he is romantic and lusty and heroic, he is at his best.
